Tactics

“Rugby for two” combines strategy and chance. Like in all card games, chance plays a role because the cards dealt at the beginning and the cards picked from the deck throughout the game are not chosen. But strategy is also very important because there are a number of choices open to the players : to stop the turn even if the player could continue, to score 3 points (penalty, drop) without being blocked or, on the contrary, try to score more points (converted or unconverted try) but with the risk of being blocked (this is particularly true with the “maul” card which has four offensive options : converted try, unconverted try, drop, foul), to use long sequences of play with the aim of rebuilding a hand or in the hope of picking a missing card, to choose to keep certain cards and reject others.

In general choosing the strategy of attack or defence, or a balance between the two… In short, a subtle dose of chance and strategy that will please both children and adults.
